In a day and age where computers do everything, it’s easy to forget that there are still some extremely important and often dangerous jobs that many people have to do every day. In addition to the soldier and police officer who put on their uniforms everyday knowing what they are doing could cost them their lives, there are many jobs that are dangerous that are often overlooked by the general public. Here are 9 of the most dangerous jobs out there.

1) Powerline workers

Power line accidents account for many deaths. They literally can fry a vehicle or heavy equipment. Imaging being the person who has to fix them. A 2008 study found that 34/100,000 power line workers are electrocuted and die. Most of the work that is done on power lines is done live as to not disrupt services, so these men and women are suspended in the air, and they are working with enough electricity to fry a crane. In addition, because power is important to the health and well-being of society, the work must be done quickly with no room for error. So they are not only suspended in the air working with `massive amounts of deadly electrical currents, they must do so quickly and correctly. This results in many severe electrical burns and falls. Not only do these men and women have to quickly work with live electrical wires and risk falling and getting burned, they often have to do so during storms. They literally play with electricity during storms. That speaks volumes of danger.
