8) Get a gas card
Another handy way of reducing your fuel prices is to apply for a gas card directly from the oil company. These fuel cards are good for businesses, where they are often known as fleet cards, and can be useful for international travel, as they can often be used at any of the fueling sites associated with the oil company. Gas cards allow you to track your expenditures much easier than a regular credit card. You can restrict the amount of spending per day, week, or month, including even the grade of fuel that you allow to be purchased. Gas cards do have some disadvantages, however. For example, gas cards generally have briefer payment conditions than other credit cards. Additionally, any payment for activities due to fraud is likely to be the responsibility of the authorized owner of the card, rather than the oil company.
