2) Make Savings Automatic

After working out your weekly or monthly budget, allot an affordable percentage of your paycheck to be directly deposited into a savings account. Some employers use an outside agency to handle payroll and only allow one transaction per payroll. However, most banks employ apps now that make it easy to set up an automatic transfer, making it possible to adjust the amount you save per paycheck rather than a fixed percentage. This will make it easier to save a reasonable sum from your pay, particularly if your pay fluctuates from for either time lost or over-time. If you work where over-time is available, base your budget on a forty-hour week, try to put all your O.T. pay into your savings.
