7) Track Spending
Tracking your spending is more difficult than you would think. Especially when you forget about the small everyday expenses that can add up fast. Think about what you spend in a day. How much does it cost you every day just to go to work, for example? Depending on the length of your commute, whether you drive or take public transportation, it is a daily expense that can add up fast. In todays touch-screen society, it’s fairly easy to track your spending. So, get in the habit of checking your bank account(s) on a daily basis. When you make out your budget for weekly or daily expenses, take that money and open a separate checking account. Use that debit card only for daily expenses. It will be easier to keep track.
