When you find yourself in need of getting another car, the timing of the purchase may not be your top priority. However, timing can be more important than you think, as it can affect the deal you get. This is especially true if you are buying from a dealer, rather than an independent seller. Salespeople have quotas they must meet as part of their job. As such, they will be trying especially hard to make sales towards the end of a given period. Therefore, they may be willing to offer a lower price just to make the sale. This tends to happen at the end of a month, when the quota period may draw close to an end. Further price decreases may occur at the end of the year when sellers are trying to get rid of older models to make room for new ones.
