2) Letting Your Gas Tank Stay Low
When you drive, you likely keep an eye on your gas level so you don’t run out. But reaching your destination is not the only issue of concern when it comes to fuel. If you let your gas tank stay low, you can damage the fuel mechanisms. If you don’t have a lot of gas, the sediments from your last fill-up will be suspended in what’s left, and will be pulled through the system. This may lead to clogged filters, or even sediments getting into your engine. Additionally, if your car’s fuel pump is not submerged in gas, it may overheat. If this happens, you need to have it replaced, which can be costly. Therefore, you should maintain half, or at the very least a quarter, of a tank full always.
